It's been a long time

I thought I would update since it's been a few weeks. I am feeling wonderful right now. I really like the second trimester. It's so much better than the first one was. The only down side is that I can't seem to sleep for more than a few hours at a time now. It's hard to fall asleep and stay that way. But I'll take that over constant nausea anytime!

As far as non-pregnancy related life goes, things are going great there too. I landed a seasonal job and will be employed through the end of January which means that we can put more money into savings! Always a plus. I hear babies can be expensive. Ryan and I finished almost all of our Christmas shopping on Saturday night. We just have a few more things to get and then we are all done. How awesome is that? Ryan's job is going well. He found out that he has more vacation time than he originally thought and now he can take off the week between Christmas and New Year's. Yay for being able to spend more time with my husband!

Movement

So I have been able to feel the baby moving for about a week now. It's normal just little tappings or what feels like bubbles bursting. Sometimes though ( usually after I drink some Sprite) the baby does the rolling thing that makes me think it's doing somersaults in there.

Ryan hasn't been able to feel anything from the outside yet. The baby tends to stop moving as soon as he puts his hand on my belly. Speaking of belly, I have one now and it definitely is a pregnant belly! I am happy to be showing now and not looking like I have a beer gut!

Doctor's Appointment Went Well

So today was our last OB appointment before we find out the gender!!! I am so excited to find out if I am right about this baby being a girl. The appointment was very normal. The doctor found the heartbeat on the doppler for about 2 seconds before the baby "swam away". She found it again and it was in the 140's and it sounded perfect. The only bad news is that I have to get shots! Sad! The flu shot and the H1N1 when it's available.

Almost 14 Weeks!

I am into the second trimester now! I am so happy to hit this milestone. It's a real relief for me. I can't wait until our big ultrasound. We have our next appointment October 13th and we should be able to find out when that will be. I am thinking it should be late October early November.

On another note I am so ready to look pregnant. Right now I just feel like I look like I ate one too mnay burrito!! Hopefully that changes soon. I know I am going to regret saying this when I hit 30 weeks or so...

Doctor's Appointment

We had our routine monthly visit Friday. Nothing too big. I was given medicine to help with my nausea so hopefully I can get it under control. We also got to hear the baby's heartbeat. It was in the 150's and going strong.

Nausea

First off I want to say that I thank God everyday for the blessing of our baby. That being said, I am looking forward to the time when my nausea ends. According to what I have been reading it should start to taper off sometime between now and 15 weeks. However I experienced my first real "morning sickness" a few days ago. I hate throwing up. :(

Ultrasounds are wonderful things

We got another ultrasound on the 18th. Our baby is growing right on track and it's heart is beating away. We got to see and HEAR the heartbeat this time. 167 BPM. I cannot explain how relieved I am each time they tell me the baby has a heartbeat and this time I got to hear it. It was so reassuring. God is truly blessing Ryan and I.

We Have a Heartbeat

I got an early ultrasound because of some minor spotting. Our beautiful baby has a heartbeat of 119 BPM. It's absolutely amazing!! When the tech turned the screen and said here's your baby's heartbeat I was so overjoyed and relieved. We also got a picture of our little bean. I'll post it later.

First OB Visit

Nothing too special to report on. I went to the OB and met with a nurse practitioner. We picked out my doctor and talked about my medical history. I got a little goodie bag full of stuff from here. It has prenatal vitamin samples and lots of reading materials in it. After meeting with her, I went to have my blood drawn. The tech was much better than the one at the family practice. I didn't even bruise this time!

The exciting news is that our first ultrasound is scheduled for August 18th! I am so pumped! I can't wait to see the little bean on that monitor and hopefully see if not hear a strong heartbeat!

I am past 5 weeks and 4 days

I made it past the point that I miscarried last time. Yesterday was anxiety filled and every little twinge had me thinking the worst. Now I am so much more confident that this is our sticky little bean. I go to the OB Monday for bloodwork and hopefully our ultrasound will be shortly after that!

Update to the first appointment

The nurse called me today and said that all my bloodwork looks like it is right on track for how far along I am. Today I am 4 weeks and 4 days pregnant and I love my baby. I am trying really hard not to have a lot of anxiety about this pregnancy.

I have been nauseous since before I got my positive home pregnancy test. All of my research and the doctor said that nausea is a good sign of a viable pregnancy. So that is one thing that I have going for me this time that I didn't have last time.

My next appointment will be August 3rd. This time I am meeting with the OB. After that we have an appointment for the following and we will see our little bean for the first time! I cannot wait to see him or her. It will make this all feel so much more real.

Also I have a strong feeling that this little baby is a girl. Can't wait to find that out either.

What a day

So today I got my second BFP!! I am so excited and a little anxious. After the miscarriage in April I am scared of losing this baby too. However I have decided to think postive thoughts and do the best I can to grow a healthy baby.

R was surprised because I found out while he was at work. When he came home I told him to go through the mail and he found a card that I bought for him to tell him about being a daddy! The first time we got a BFP I just ran into the room screaming "Oh my gosh we're pregnant."

I also experienced some implantation spotting/staining today. It was very minimal. Light pink in color and I only saw it once. Because of the miscarriage though, my heart jumped to my throat. I have since calmed down. Here's to hoping that we have a healthy and strong baby in March!
